My show with Dana International and Portugal fun

Hi there,

I am finally home after two weeks of cruising and doing some concerts in gorgeous Portugal. Needless to say the atmosphere there was incredible since they won the Euro Cup. Especially in Lisbon where 70 thousand football fans came to celebrate their victory. Luckily, I was there the next day so didn't have to push through the crowds.
I have had the best of time on this cruise. My shows were so much fun and it was delightful to receive so many lovely compliments from the guests throughout the cruise after the performances. I also had the opportunity to meet some great people and I am sure we will stay in touch. The Dumfries bunch - you made it for me! Thank you Debb, Jenn, Trish, Sarah, Lewis and Daz!
(Sorry I don't have all of you in this photo)

During this cruise I also managed to have my website redesigned. If you're reading this you would have already seen it, so I hope you liked it. If not, check it out www.shimigoodman.com. We are still making a few tweaks, so if anything doesn't work do let me know and I will pass it on.
Thank you very much to Andrew Subastian for designing the new website.

I finally managed to get through some of the emails in my web mail box. I would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely things you've all been saying about the show with Dana International. It was so much fun and I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Dana was a real darling to work with and everyone involved did such a brilliant job. The band, sound and lights were top notch and it enhanced the experience no end. Here are some pics from that amazing night:
(back stage with Dana)

Also, thank you Andy Brett for the photo you sent me from the show on the Braemar earlier this year. I love it. Here it is:

Next I'm flying to Norway and sailing to France and Portugal again to sing on the new Viking ship which is very exciting!

Lots more plans for this year, so stay tuned.

Lots of love

Cruising Life is here!

Yo ho ho! It's a Sailor's Life for Me!

Yes, I am officially a sailor. Well not quite... I have performed on my first two cruises with Fred Olsen and loved them. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, staff and passengers alike. The first one was on board the M/S Braemar which took me all the way to the sunny shores of the Caribbean Islands. I saw so many of them that they all blend into one. Some of the highlights on this cruise have to be a 4 wheel drive Jeep scenic tour in Barbados and mountain biking in St Maarten (you can check out the many photos I uploaded on my Facebook page). The second cruise to the Azores, Cape Verde and the Canaries was on the M/S Boudicca. Unfortunately, this one started on a bit of a low as I was ill with a throat virus which made me lose my voice. Luckily we were at sea for 4 days sailing to Praia da Vitoria, so I just stayed in my cabin ordering room service, resting, steaming and healing. It is the most frustrating thing as a singer to lose ones voice for obvious reasons. My show was postponed and a week later I was back on with bells on. The shows on both ships went brilliantly well and I enjoyed every second of them.
The concerts on the Braemar were filmed and you can see snippets from them here. I know a lot of passengers asked for the videos to be included in the cruise DVD but unfortunately that wasn't possible, so I hope you enjoy the snippets.
I am currently getting ready for a few shows I have coming up. One is in Cardiff and two are in London. The most exciting one is Israel's main 68th birthday event in London which this year is themes as a Eurovision Extravaganza and I will be sharing the stage with the 1996 competition winner with the song Diva, Dana International. I am really excited! I'll be singing a selection of some of the best Israeli entries over the years including my favourites A-BA-NI-BI and Hallelujah.
I hope to see you there!

In June and July I am cruising again which is rather exciting. I particularly look forward to sailing to to Norway in June on the Black Watch and to Portugal in July returning to the lovely Boudicca.
Until my next blog, I wish all the very best wherever you are.
Goodbye for now. xxx

Back at the Pheasantry on April 18, 2015

Hi there,

I can't believe it has been almost 8 months since Chris Hamilton and I last performed at the lovely Pheasantry and here we are doing it again on the 18th of April, 2015. We have some really cool new songs that we prepared especially for this show and we hope that you will be there to enjoy them.
We also have a very special guest singer, the star of Evita in the West End, the delectable Miss
Madalena Alberto. Since we have both performed in Evita it is inevitable that we are going to sing a medley from the show among others.
Here is a link to the Facebook event with all the info necessary and some teasers which we will keep uploading as we go.
So, it's at the Pheasantry in Chelsea on the 18th of April. An evening of live music and pizza. Go on and get booking!

See you there

From Here to Eternity and my back

Hi,

Gosh, I really have neglected this blog and I can only apologise for that. I have had the most intense rehearsal period for my new show and time was very scarce.
However, now the show is up and running and I urge you to come and see it as it is absolutely phenomenal (and I'm not just saying this just because I'm in it).
FROM HERE TO ETERNITY is a brand new musical based on one of the greatest novels of the 20th century.

I play private Maddox from G Company, I get to kill Prewitt the lead guy with a proper stage gun which is very exciting but my main solo is as The Drag Queen (aka Pearl) who is the owner of the Waikiki Tavern, an underground gay bar which attracts all those American G.I. soldiers for all sorts of reasons... Well, I don't want to give the story away. Come and see for yourself.

Don't take my word for it. Check out some of the amazing reviews we have had.

Anyway, on a different note, the reason I suddenly have some time to blog is because I am actually at home this week with a bad back. I hate not being able to do the show but I am glad for my understudies that they are getting a chance to go on as "Pearl". I hope they are having great fun performing the role. I'm sure they are doing a fantastic job as they are both very talented guys called Matthew Wesley and Yiftach Mizrahi.
As for my back, apparently it is an aggravated disc and it just needs some time to recover. Health comes first, but hopefully I will be back on the stage in a week.

In the mean time check out the show's beautiful website.

So Aloha for now and goodbye
Shimi xx

Tommy Opening Night

The opening night of Tommy was very successful and the first week was so much fun. It's a real treat to be able to settle in to the show. We have been getting some amazing audience reactions. SIX standing ovations!!!! The second week of shows started yesterday after a quick and long pending visit of mine to London (it was so much fun). As of tonight we are adding an encore to the show due to audience requests.
Check out some reviews and pictures from the show on the Tommy Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/The-Whos-TOMMY/181907735218338
You may have to use google translate as they are all in German.

Tommy - The Musical

I am currently rehearsing for The Who's musical Tommy. I will be playing the roles of the Minister (Eyesight To The Blind) and the Specialist (Go To The Mirror Boy!). We are rehearsing in London and the show will run at The English Theatre in Frankfurt, Germany from November 12, 2011 till February 12, 2012.

Rehearsals are going really well and it looks like it's going to be a fantastic show. I hope you can make it to Germany to see it.
